Just wondering if anyone knows for sure...
I found an old XAV1004 Ethernet powerline switch, but couldn't find the powerline adapters that it came with... Would it still work as a normal ethernet switch or splitter if I plugged the XAV100...

The XAV1004 is HomePlug v1.0. So it won't work with the new AV standard plugs. In any case, at 2-30 Mbps it is also going to be a lot slower than the latest 1000 Mbps plugs.
If you just want to wire more devices to your router, and they are not too far apart, then a simple switch would work.

I use one of these:

I recently had to replace an 8-port switch with a 16-port switch.
Just plug it into the router and connect other things to it.
