Hi, I've been trying to setup a Powerline connection in my house with the PL1200. However my computer has no internet access. The lights on the adaptor connected to the modem are all solid green. The Power and Ethernet light on the adaptor connected to the computer are solid green. While the pick-a-plug light is green but blinks on and off every second or two. I've tried plugging it into multiple different sockets with no change. I have tried restoring both devices to factory defaults multiple time, and tried with and without the security key. My computer is displaying an unidentified network with no internet connection and I have tried resetting my IP settings with no results, however it does connect when I directly plug it into my router. I am wondering if there are any of things I can try to fix this problem?249Views0likes3CommentsExpanding Powerline network
Hi, I have virgin media branded netgear power line that are the plugin ethernet cable type (1000?) One is plugged into my virgin router at the front of the house and the other was in my kitchen and then plugged into a Tenda wifi router. I have built a garden office and moved the power line and Tenda router in there, however, whilst working, the speed is much slower than it was in the kitchen. Red light - 1mbps. Distance from the Virgin router I'm guessing being the problem. Is it possible to buy another power line adapter that works with what I have and provides wifi for the kitchen and if so would it effect the speed of the router now in the garden office? Would it slow the garden office internet or speed it up (boost it along the power lines?!?!?). Thanks in advance.325Views0likes1CommentDysfunctional Powerline Adapter (possibly due to Solar)
Hi, I own a powerline adapter which is said to transmit Ethernet across 110 V in-house power outlets. I was hoping to use this to extend network range inside the household but it was not working out of the box. The power light is the only one of three lights to turn on during assumed functional state of device. The unit is Powerline 1200 Extender (PLP1200) IT troubleshooting knowledge is experienced, but on the software side. Please confirm that I am also not missing additional units for this product to work. Assumption is there are at least two such units necessary to be plugged in at different plugpoints. One plugged into Ethernet source and the other plugged into target device. Bhairav Also abetting is possible voltage threshold lockout due to solar electric power source on the house. Pls provide guidance298Views0likes1CommentCompatibility between PLW1000v2 and XAV5501
Hi, is it possible to connect to the Powerline AV+ 500 client adapters (XAV5001) to the PL1000 which is connected to my router? The PLW1000v2 kit was added to my network to create a Wlan access point in our cellar where my normal Wlan signal is not available. I am not sure if both systems are compatible. I was not able to get this configuration working. Rgds ClaudiaSolved2.4KViews0likes7CommentsConnection from PLP2000 slow
Hello, I am currently trying out a PLP2000 Powerline Adapter. Seems to work but I have noticed that it seems to limit my connection. Current Setup: Coax Cable > Netgear CM1200 Modem > AC1750 Router > PLP2000. When running some tests I can get around 100mbps through the PLP but can get around 200mbps from a direct connection to the router. I have tried - re-syncing the connections - restarting the router and modem - tested the receiver in a closer outlet as well as an outlet further out and see the same results. I was thinking about trying a router or connecting to the modem directly just to see if it's the router but have not had time yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.755Views0likes2CommentsPL1000 Pick-A-Plug LED off throughout the house
Title. My PC and router are connected to ethernet cables connected to the PL1000. Last night, suddenly, both stopped functioning and the Pick-A-Plug light has gone off on both. What can I do to fix this? I have tried factory resetting and changing the location of the plug.1.2KViews0likes4CommentsStrange Timezone issue with Netgear PLW1000v2 on firmware 1.0.0.18
I noticed today that the time on the device was an hour earlier than it is supposed to be. My timezone is Pacific / Los Angeles (normally -8 GMT) but during daylight savings time it is -7 GMT (PDT) I choose the option for GMT -8 Pacific Time in the NTP setup and the check box for "Automatically adjust for daylight savings time" is checked. Technically this should be all that is needed and the device should compensate every 6 months for addition or removal of the daylight savings time hour. If I reboot the device - the time is wrong - it is one hour earlier than it should be. If I change from the NETGEAR Preferred timeserver to the preferred timeserver (time-b.netgear.com) and click apply - the time is magically set correctly. Anyone have any ideas if there's a bug in the timezone / dst system or is there something I am doing wrong? My expectation is that I don't have to fix this every 6 months when we change to/from PST to PDT.466Views0likes0CommentsNetgear powerline plp1000 ethernet light not turning on
Hi, I have my netgear powerline wifi 1000mbs for the best part of a year and they worked great until today. I am not sure why. The ethernet light won't turn on on the adapter near my pc, but the other two light are fine (the power light and the connection to the other plug). The one next to the router has 3 greens. I have tried a factory reset of both devices and reconnecting them, I've tried a power cycle of the router, I've used 3 different ethernet cables, I've tried swapping the adapters around, I've tried different wall sockets. Nothing seems to work for me. Is there anything I can do or has it broke?1.7KViews0likes2CommentsPLP1200 Loses connection after 5 ish minutes
Hi So I have two PLP1200 adapters connected with a wireless router on both ends. I've had this setup since 2016 with this problem only occuring once last year, where it fixed itself somehow. So the problem is that the adapters suddenly stops transmitting internet, all the three lamps green (with the pick a plug LED occasionally red, as normal). Then I fix it by resetting both the adapters and then it runs flawless for somewhere between 2-10 minutes, usually around 5. Then it suddenly drops connection even though the lamps on the device tells otherwise. Then I apply the same fix and the same problem comes back. I have troubleshooted both of my routers and have confirmed that they aren't faulty and that the problem lies with the adapters. The problem occured once last year but it fixed itself after a couple off days, but now it has been on and off with this problem for the last two weeks and I am getting tired of resetting the adapters all the time. Anyone who may help me understand why?951Views0likes2Comments
