I have a pole barn for mechanical repair, welding projects, work benches. The building is grounded all metal walls and roof, concrete floor, no windows. I spend a lot of time in this building and would like to have a dependable wifi signal. During nice weather I can open the door and get a good wifi signal from my Orbi satellite in the nearby garage. During unfavorable weather with the door closed I cannot get a wifi signal. Years ago before Orbi, I had a Linksys router that my Netgear Extenders EX6100 and EX3700 would connect to. I drilled a hole in the steel wall and stuck an extender antenna out the hole and it worked great. Neither of these extenders will work with my Orbi system. I have not been able to identify an extender with external antenna that works with my Orbi system. In a perfect world I could buy a Orbi satellite with an optional external antenna to stick out the hole in the wall, however, no such thing. Can anyone suggest an extender with antenna that is simple to connect to an Orbi RBR40 router with RBW30 satellites? Simple is key, I'm not a skilled IT Tech. I just moved into an apartment. In my folk's house, my netgear A8000 adapter was pulling about 160-350 Mb/s, depending on who else was using the wifi. Now, I'm the only person using the wifi, and my phone, sitting underneath the netgear adapter, runs a test speed of 450-490 Mb/s, but my PC only pulls 30-50Mb/s on a speed test. I have updated the firmware. I have made sure it was in a USB 3.0 slot (even though I should be getting way more speed out of a 2.0). My modem is a Calix GigaSpire Blast, model u6x GS4227. My OS is Windows 10. It's dumb, but I've gotten used to downloads taking 10-15 minutes rather than 3-5 hours. I can't find any advice that doesn't involve updating firmware. I couldn't find this exact problem after searching the community. I have a C7000 modem/router installed about 2 months ago. I have three devices hardwired to it, and run a wifi network for the rest of the house. Some days when we boot up our computers using wifi, two of them don't "fully" connect to the internet; some web sites are accessible but most say "cannot connect". The other computers and our phones show no problem; and the hard wired devices are fine. The only fix I can find is to reboot the C7000 by unplugging then plugging it back in. As an extra check, I did contact Spectrum to make sure there was nothing odd going on on their side and they showed no issues. Any thoughts? Thanks! Hey there, Trying to install Windows 11, but it needs a network connection to go. I am nightmarishly aware that the driver page here exists, but that is an installer package that assumes Windows is already installed and running. Extracting the contents of the installer using 7zip does not help; the driver files are encoded into the installer file. I need the actual raw driver files that Windows can recognize so I can get this install going. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.1.2KViews0likes1CommentNighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
I have successfully set up my modem for a while now and have no issues using the Android app to manage the Router locally. However, I recently logged into the local web interface to turn on the remote access functions of the router to manage while away. It shows that was successful. I screen copied the IP and port info from the web interface but it will still not communicate with the router outside of the local network. I have tried several different browsers to access it and the Android app doesn't show any choice for remote management. Any pointers you can offer out there? Hi, I've been trying to setup a Powerline connection in my house with the PL1200. However my computer has no internet access. The lights on the adaptor connected to the modem are all solid green. The Power and Ethernet light on the adaptor connected to the computer are solid green. While the pick-a-plug light is green but blinks on and off every second or two. I've tried plugging it into multiple different sockets with no change. I have tried restoring both devices to factory defaults multiple time, and tried with and without the security key. My computer is displaying an unidentified network with no internet connection and I have tried resetting my IP settings with no results, however it does connect when I directly plug it into my router. I am wondering if there are any of things I can try to fix this problem?239Views0likes3CommentsNetgear r7900p not producing gig speed at router

Hi, I have two "WiFi USB 3.0 AC1900 (A7000)" which I have been using for a long time on two different PCs with Win11. Before "Win11" latest update, my Wi-Fi speed was about 650mbs in download, and 310mbs in upload. Besides, "Netger Genie" was working correctly detecting automatically my Wi-Fi. After Win11 update of 11/22/2024, the two WiFi Adapters USB 3.0 AC1900 (A7000) stopped working properly, and Netger Genie started showing a red flag in the notification area (i.e. it couldn't manage any more the adapter, on both computers). I have tried everything possible, even reinstalling the OS and Netgear Genie, but up to now with my adapters I only reach a maximum of 330mbs in download. Is there something more specific I can try? Is there any chance to download a Win11 driver specific for WiFi USB 3.0 AC1900 (A7000)? Many thanks in advance for your help. M #WiFiUSB3.0AC1900(A7000) #Win11 #NetgearGenie1.9KViews0likes12Comments
