Netgear r7900p not producing gig speed at router
So my local ISP recently upgraded me to Gig speeds. I have a Arris surfboard modem that is getting gig speeds however my router will not produce these speeds at the ports.
wifi 5ghz is 240mbs at best
hardwired - cat6 cable - 450mbs
now i know cable internet can fluctuate, I was just hoping for better speeds especially over wifi.
thanks for your time

Be sure it's connecting at 1000Mbps to the back of the router.
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.Try a different ethernet connected PC.
Be sure to test with Ooklas installable speed test app on the PC.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellite(s) been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed?Don't enable Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter after setting up the router from scratch using a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Be aware that the R7900 is EoL.

If you had a recent speed change, factory reset the R7900 and reinstall it.
During the install, make sure to leave qos, access controls, parental controls, and traffic monitoring all disabled.
You should be able to get full gigabit over wired but your wireless will probably only hit 300-400mbps over 5g if you're close.
