Mixed devices on powerline ???
SORRY FOR THE VERY BASIC QUESTION: I have a HOME NETWORK NETGEAR POWERLINE XE102 and WIRELESS WALL PLUG RANGE EXTENDER with WEP security. I was thinking of adding another XE102 (or two) to the ring main network. One maybe to plug into the SKY+HD BOX to support SKY anytime plus .... and the other for cable ethernet to laptops etc. (faster than wireless???)
I am assuming the wireless WEP security is nothing to do with the XE102 to XE102 ethernet and will not be an issue between the XE102s .... but I could encrypt the XE102 ethernet separately if required.
Am I on the right track??

- clithesProdigyYou can add more XE102 devices to you network without worrying about the wireless wep. Generally power line adapters provide a more stable/consistent connection than wireless (although not as good as a fully wired LAN due to the noise on the AC power lines)
If you have changed the encryption key on your current XE102's you will need to do the same with the new units otherwise they will not communicate - jmizoguchiVirtuosohttp://support.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1125
You find how many of same device can be installed ...
WEP are wireless portion therefore if you are not going to use wireless then disable it and use ethernet out of the power line device.
