If you just want to bring better internet to the PC, then the simplest choice could be a powerline network.

Connect one plug into the router, plug another near the PC, then just connect the PC to the powerplug through the LAN socket. (I assume that, like most PCs, yours can do LAN.)
The latest generation of Powerline devices can handle GB LAN, which probably matches the PC's LAN speed.

If you want to go fancy, buy powerline devices that also act as a wifi repeater. Then you can use other wifi devices in the same room as the PC and get a better signal.

A Wi-Fi Range Extender is another possibility if you want to use lots of other wifi devices that aren't near the PC. But remember that the range extender needs to see a good wifi signal, so the best place for it will be somewhere between the PC and the router. Put it by the PC and it may struggle to get a good signal.
Congratulations on not using whatever modem TalkTalk "gives" customers. ISPs usually supply junk and TalkTalk is probably the least competent ISP in the UK so it probably handing out rubbish hardware.
By the way, if you do opt for fibre, it will probably be VDSL and this modem doesn't seem to be up to that. You'll need something like the D6400 which does ADSL and VDSL.
