Netgear PL1200 Powerline Pick a Plug is red in every room except for same room

The Pick a Plug light is red any time I plug the second Powerline adapter in any other room. My house is a new construction within the past year. Is there any solution to this? I've plugged it into rooms with nothing else connected at all, but has a green light when in the same room together as the router. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or are there any alternative solutions to this at all?

Does the Powerline network actually operate?

The LEDs are a crude indicator of speed. You may find that in operation they behave as expected.

Unfortunately, a lot depends on the mains circuit. Age may not have much to do with it. Indeed, your newer wiring may have some fancy modern technology that gets in the way. Pity they didn't wire the place for Ethernet at the same time.

Yeah, it does operate, and I only get 5mbps down. They did wire it does coax everywhere, so I'm just going to try MoCA. Super disappointing with this low adapter. All of this troubleshooting is too much of a crapshoot.

If you have Ethernet everywhere, why are you using Powerline? All it does is substitute for wired Ethernet.
