NETGEAR WN1000RP-100UKS Universal WiFi Range Extender (WiFi Booster) - Discontinued

Hello,

I purchased the NETGEAR WN1000RP-100UKS Universal WiFi Range Extender (WiFi Booster) a couple of years ago from amazon.co.uk The booster works well.

I'd like to buy an additional wifi booster plug to extend the wifi further into my kitchen where my wifi is weak. I have two questions:

Firstly, is it possible to add another Netgear Wifi booster to an existing network?

And secondly the NETGEAR WN1000RP-100UKS Universal WiFi Range Extender (WiFi Booster) has been discontinued and is no longer available for sale. Is there a newer version available that is compatible with the older model? I only need the wifi extender plug and not the plug that connects via ethernet.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Thanks, Phil

These things work to industry standards. So any Powerline device from any maker should be compatible. But faster kit will fall back to the speed of the slower plugs on the network.

I have mixed and matched makers and generations of Powerline hardware but I usually find that it is better to stick to one manufacturer, then they can't blame any issues on the other one.

Good luck trying to find a singleton of any Powerline device. Netgear seems to believer that we should all but twin packs.
