SORRY, if this has been covered before. I couldn't find any threads with this issue.
I just installed my new PLW adapter with extender. I expected SOME better results in streamiing my TV/Movie websites. My streams play on SOME channels without issue but others have to "buffer" through the show, sometimes every few minutes and sometimes within seconds (particularily ABC and NBC). Sometimes I get to between 9 and 10 pm and suddenly a movie that was streaming smoothly stops and goes into buffer mode! I thought the WiFi extender/ethernet connection would make up for this. Nothing has changed.
I feel like I am on the wrong path to fixing this. My ASUS Laptop has only one purpose - to stream. I use it for nothing but you tube, TV, Disney, Amazon and Netflix channels. I have lots of HD space 400GB/500GB. I have reasonable RAM - 4GB, 3.89 useable, 3GB virtual Memory. I cleaned up any unused apps and I would turn off background activity if I knew how. TIPS here?
I am not experiencing any improvement in streaming since I put this in. My Plug light is RED. I have no other outlets near enough to the laptop to connect with the ethernet cable. Not sure if WiFi only from another outlet in the same room would be better.
Note: Sometimes our internet goes out for no apparent reason. COX I am on a 100MB download account.
Thank you for your thoughts.

powerline devices are sensitive to interference. If your pick a plug light is red, it means you have the worst connection.
Amber is -decent and green is best connection.
things that can influence powerline is: surge protectors, gfci outlets, arc fault breakers, high draw appliances, bad/cheap cell phone chargers, old wiring, and electronics poorly designed that are feeding back into the wiring system.
You can optimize powerline device. here's an article with a few tips.
