Yes, I did try that.
I was able to get another adapter to connect but was not easy. The adapter does not give any indication that a reset was done (led's don't blink or anything).
Seems that the farther I get from the first adapter (connected to the router), the worse the connection speed is (not sure how that works since each room would be a separate circuit back to the breaker panel). Rooms right next to the first adapter get a gig (green led), two rooms over the light turns orange and farther out it goes red.
This normal?

As you say, it depends on the wiring.
The good things is that once you have established the link between the source (router) plug and the (host) one you are setting up, you can move the host and it will remember the settings. No need to set it up yet again.
