    No if you use the Netgear powerline utility or genie you can change the default encryption key of 'HomeplugAV' to anything you like. As a simple example you could have 2 units with a key of 'HomeplugAV1' and another two with 'HomeplugAV2' and they would coexist in the same home quite happily, but running independently of each other. To change the keys you will need to be connected by lan cable to each unit. Hope this helps
