PLP2000 Speed
I have 2 powerline PLP2000 adapters plugged into the only 2 outlets on the same wire.
The wire runs the length of the house and 2 stories down to the basement.
I have xfinity internet service with only 400 MBS speed. My TV and RUKO
connected to the powerline has a speed of 90 MBS. It seems like I am somehow
set to Cat5 speeds and I am wondering why? Could the PLP2000 be running in
power saveing mode and this might default to Cat5 speed (100MBs) or is this
related to the distance between the 2 outlets or is the 400MBS speed less
then 1000MBS and the PLP2000 drops to CAT5 speed (100MBS)?
I just re-read your post. I'm dumb. Most tv's and roku's aren't gigabit. They're 100mbps. For the most part, streaming only takes 25-40mbps to stream 4k so most tv's and streaming devices don't build in gigabit as its more expensive (barely). Try with something that isn't one of those 2 devices. You don't hit gigabit over powerline but you probably will get faster than 90mbps if you have a capable device.

Thats a challenge to test because it could be the ethernet runs, it could be the powerline connection, it could be interference.
One test? Plug them in on the same room with the same circuit and test their speeds.
Thanks. That sounds like a logical test, but, This is an older house and the only 3 plug outlet in the office with router is the outlet I am using.
The wire and outlets I am using is new and runs to the office (for my computers) from the basement . I would have to temp run a 100+ft cat6 cable from router to the basement and then use the other 3 plug outlets in the basement (the work shop) to test this.

Thanks. I did not thank of that. These devices seem to be very stable with no buffering and always with a speed test of 90 to 93 mbs. I am happy with the performance with 90 mbs as I was getting around 10 to 20 mbs with my WIFI before installing the powerline. So the powerline has helped. I was just curious about the speed.
THANK YOU.
