PLW1000 Supplied by Virgin Media Firmware Update

Hi All, i have a PLW1000 supplied by Virgin Media (Has Virgin Media emblem on product). I see via the Netgear support site that there is a later firmware version available.

However when i follow the manual upgrade process (when i click check for upgrade via web interface, it always says no internet conenction bizarrly) i always get a message indicating the firmware file is not the correct file or is damaged (not sure how to read the message.)

Is there a separate firmware update for products supplied through Virgin Media, for use with their Superhub 3 system.
