I noticed today that the time on the device was an hour earlier than it is supposed to be. My timezone is Pacific / Los Angeles (normally -8 GMT) but during daylight savings time it is -7 GMT (PDT) I choose the option for GMT -8 Pacific Time in the NTP setup and the check box for "Automatically adjust for daylight savings time" is checked. Technically this should be all that is needed and the device should compensate every 6 months for addition or removal of the daylight savings time hour. If I reboot the device - the time is wrong - it is one hour earlier than it should be. If I change from the NETGEAR Preferred timeserver to the preferred timeserver (time-b.netgear.com) and click apply - the time is magically set correctly. Anyone have any ideas if there's a bug in the timezone / dst system or is there something I am doing wrong? My expectation is that I don't have to fix this every 6 months when we change to/from PST to PDT.464Views0likes0CommentsPowerline PLP1200 5Ghz compatability?
Hello, I was getting low internet speeds with my PLP1200 so I upgraded my ISP service plan to 400 mbps. They sent me a modem and a router and I still get 30 mbps through this device while my Macbook air is sporting 230 mbps through its inbuilt wifi adapter. Does the PLP1200 not support 5 Ghz? I even connected a garbage Canakit wifi dongle with 2.4 GHz compatability and it was hitting around 30 mbps this is why I suspect the powerline adapter is not registering the internet with higher speed. Is there not a firmware for this device?1.5KViews0likes1CommentPLP2000 Firmware, monitoring, how many PLP2000
I have a set of the PLP2000. One in the basment connected to my router and one on the third floor about 70 plus feet away. The 3 lights stay solid and when I connect my laptop to the one upstairs it works at my full internet or really close on speedtests, so that seems good. BTW, not crazy internet speeds but all I can get in my area is 120/10 but seems fast enough for me. Questions: How do I check/upgrade the firmware on these units - what utility? Should I get another set and put a couple or one more on the main floor - will this help? When I bring up Windows Genie, and click on the Powerline piece (I don't have anything else Netgear) I see the two Powerline adapters but the line in the middle is dotted with a lock that shows it's unlocked between them. Does this mean that the encryption is not on and should the line not be solid? When I click on the lock, I get another screen with a password set on the master unit and no password set on the slave unit. I did go through the encryption process with the button on the units and it worked based on the middle light lighting up on both as it was setting the encryption. I assume all is okay but the diagram seems to show that it's not locked/secure. If these lose power, do I need to turn encryption on again? I have my 5300 Asus ROG routers connected with these units and they all read okay as far as my Aimesh showing a wired connection to my Aimesh node all the way upstairs.17KViews0likes46CommentsMultiple Powerline Adapters Help?
Sorry this is long, would appreciate any help, thank you! I have two sets of powerline adapters that are different brands (One Netgear and other Briteview), one set is already in use, connected to the router itself and the other downstairs, used to extend the WiFi signal. I want to use the other set, which is supposed to connect one to the router and the other to my PS4. There’s only one slot available on the back of the router (4 total) that I can plug into, obviously I could switch them around if needed. Now when I tried connecting the pair of adapters I wanted to use (to the router and PS4) other people in the house noticed the WiFi stopped working (Ex: Using google to search something would not work, the status bar would move a little and then never load) yet the WiFi was still on and showed 3 full bars. I searched for answers and tried just using 1 of the unused powerline adapters on the PS4 (NOT connecting the remaining one to the router) while the original set was still in use. I then tried to reset all 3 by pressing reset on the original one plugged into the router and the reset on the one in the PS4. It seemed to be working and all the adapters showed they were on and connected. Next I went to “Setup Internet Connection” on my PS4 using wired connection settings and I received an error saying it could not find my ip. So next I did it manually, entering my ip, dns, etc. and it found my up but then said no internet connection. I tried raising my ip by 100 but got the same result. Nothing has worked yet, any suggestions would be appreciated!25KViews0likes1CommentPowerline 1200 stopped working - Pick A Plug LED alternating between green and red
powerline was working for me for about a month before I started getting the red light indicator and network speeds slowed & became comparable to my normal wifi. i have one connected upstairs to my router (maybe 20-30 ft. away at max), the other to my PS4 (both in standard surge protector power strips). as i mentioned, there were no issues in the beginning (all lights were green and my network speed was as good as it's ever been downstairs on my PS4) but now the pickaplug LED is alternating between red and green and network speeds on my PS4 are better off with normal wifi. I haven't performed a factory reset, which will probably be my next move. not sure if this is relevant, but I never set up a specific SSID - on my PS4, it allowed me to connect via "LAN" (as i think my console was tricked into thinking it was hardwired) so not sure if setting up a specific one could help after factory reset. Please help! Thanks in advance for your support. :)Solved11KViews0likes1CommentPowerline 500 XWN5001 firmware V0.4.1.1 CRC error
Hello, I have two XWN5001 wifi units, along with two XAV5201. One of the XWN5001 with firmware V0.4.0.7CE, and the other with V0.4.1.1CE. I guess CE identifies Europe; Spain in this case. So, I tried to upgrade 0.4.0.7 to 0.4.1.1 to have the same level in both. The problem is that if I discharge XWN5001-V0.4.1.1.zip from the donload center and try to unzip it, gives CRC error. I discharged some other firmwares just to see if there was any other problem in my system, and I unzip it without any problem. Any ideas? No one tried the same before?Solved2.2KViews0likes3CommentsPLW 1000 FIRMWARE UPDATE 1.0.1.6 NOT WORKING

Picked up a PLW1000 kit which is working great, checking support there are some firmware updates which address security etc, however no matter whichfirmware file I try, it tells me it is the incorrect firmware and fails. Product box states it is a PLW1000-1TLAUS, status page states PLW1000, however firmware page states it is loaded with firmware v1.0.0.8 which would correspond with being the first revision firmware of a PLW1000v2 I have tried PLW1000 v1.0.0.22, v1.0.1.4, v1.0.1.6, as well as PLW1000v2 v1.0.0.12, v1.0.0.14 I had a look at PLW1010 and PLW1010v2 however they both use the corresponding files from the 1000 series. Everything is working, however since the firmware release notes states things such as: New Features & Enhancements Includes security fixes. Bug Fixes: Fixed the Web GUI bug when editing the Access Control rules. Fixed the issue for Remote Poweline Devices Status which displays incorrectly New Features & Enhancements Includes security fixes. Support for “Turn off wireless signal by schedule” function. Would be nice to be able to benefit from these..Solved7.6KViews0likes10Comments
