powerline 1000 plugged in to wall / power led light goes off after about 2 seconds

Set up the Powerline 1000 in my house. All the lights came on normally. Placed one of the adapters next to the front of my garage and the other plugged in across the street to my shop. When I plugged it in, the pick a plug and power leds came on but after a couple of seconds the power led went out. Does it need to have the same power source?

Yes it needs the be on the same power source.

You can cross breakers (decreases speeds/signal) but it needs to be the same source.

My shop has it's own meter because it's across the street. So what your telling me it won't work. I appreciate your response. Any suggestions for Arlo cameras? Thinking about directional (beam) antenna.

arlo camera's and beam antenna's are different.

If you're wanting security camera's, you'd have to ask on their forums.

In terms of "beam antenna', I take it you mean point to point systems like netgear airbridge. If you've got a straight line of sight, it'd work fine.
