Powerline 500 xav5201v2
Hello I have a powerline 500 and it works great but it is 1 port. Can I buy another recever for this sytem to attach another device that requires a ethernet connection in a different room to this sy...

Yes and no to those questions.
You can add more plugs, and you need just one connected to the router.
Most recent Powerline devices follow the AV standard, which means that you can mix different makes and different generations. The only issue if that if you add "1000" plugs to a network with "500" plugs they will talk to each other at the speed of the slowest plugs on the network.
When you do add plugs to an existing network, you should follow these instructions:
Powerline Networking | Powerline Ethernet | NETGEAR
Remember, you need only one "source" plug connected to the router.
One other thing to consider, in theory you can mix brands but it isn't always easy to get set them up.
Thanks so much that is very helpful!!. Is there a way to buy just one additional powerline 500 receiver plug? I have only been able to find the system in pairs. I am assuming the powerline 500 is an older model since I am not finding it anywhere..Best I could find was the powerline 1000 but it comes as a source receptacle and a receiver

That's the way the makers like it. None seem to sell singletons. Maybe you can get something second hand.

Yes. AV500 is old generation. If you can find some, they will be dead cheap.
One advantage of the 1000 generation is that the LAN ports run at 1 Gbps, whereas older ones are stuck on 100 Mbps.
