Powerline and range extender
At the moment I use a tp-link wifi range extender and connect it to my pc using an ethernet cable. It is terrible, my ping whilst playing games is terrible. I was told a powerline would be better. Wha...

I still don't understand why the PL1000 is cheaper and why you say amazon doesn't sell XAVB5101, it does in the UK.From the page you point to, Amazon does not sell the XAVB5101 in the UK. The link you gave shows that the item is "Dispatched from and sold by NETWORK LTD." That is not Amazon.
Anyone can use the Amazon front end to sell things. That is why this device is "Not eligible for Amazon Prime."
Why is the XAVB5101 more expensive? Because there are suckers out there willing to pay over the odds? Other suppliers sell the same plugs in the UK for £26.85 plus shipping. That seems like a more reasonable price for out-dated stock that sellers want to get rid of.
They may even have supplies of the XAVB5101 at your nearest branch of Currys. Look in the"bargain bin".
Currys prices there are likely to be better than Amazon. At Currys the PL1000 is £24.97, the same as Amazon.

It is the previous generation. Bit slower than today's models, but probably fast enough for most needs.
Thank you for the help. I don't have very fast internet, so I only need a 500 model, but I would like gigabit ethernet. Are there any models better than the XAVB5101 with gigabit ethernet? Which models are the newer generation?
I am not sure if some are made specialised for gaming or other uses, etc, but if this is the case, I would like one specialised for gaming.

Pick your wishlist from this lot:
Powerline Networking | Powerline Ethernet | NETGEAR
Look for Gigabit ports.

The only 500mbps gigabit port one on that list is the XAVB5101. All the others are 1000mbps models, I don't need one that fast I think. Earlier you mentioned than the XAVB5101 was the older generation, which ones are in the newer generation?
Thanks

You say you want Gigabit Ethernet but you don't want 1000 Mbps powerline. That doesn't make much sense.
1000 Mbps powerline refers to the speed over the powerline network. Forget about your Internet speed, think about the local network. Doesn't it make sense to have it all capable of running as fast as possible? Will your Gb LAN devices really work as fast over 500 Mbps powerline as over 1000 Mbps powerline?
Did you read the Amazon links you posted? Look at the delivery charges and options. I rarely buy from Amazon – tax dodgers don't float my boat – but I do know enough to be able to decipher their various options. Amazon doesn't sell the XAVB5101.
Buy what takes your fancy. You won't notice any difference.

One of the gigabit port, 1000mbps models is the PL1000, which is just £44 reduced to £24. The XAVB5101 is £82, why is the (supposedly) better model so much cheaper?
This is the XAVB5101 I am looking at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006O5S6LA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A14ZSRP8RNIR19
This is the PL1000: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01BD9TFI4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
