Powerline and range extender

Hello,

Does the power line adapter need to be on the same electrical socket circuit. I want to entend into another part of our house that's power supply is contected from one main box to another main box. Does anybody now if this will work as its the same power supply but on a different circuit?

Thanks

  • Best thing to do is test your powerline link with a laptop, running  a speedtest. If you are going trhough the effort of attempting powerline, and, if you have an old router cnfigure it as an Access Point. Extenders is really not the way to go. Extenders = sketchy wireless connectivity, and also 50% throughput penalty. So, whatever throughput you are getting on your router, with an extender / 2..
