Powerline Compatibility
HI All,
I am new to this, so I ask the community to please help me:) My Modem/roueris model is Netgear n450 and I'm thinking about the TP-LINK powerline adapter to help my wireless signal to my TV. Are these two units compatible. Thank you in advance for any helpyou might send my way!

First, Netgear n450 is a wifi specification, it is not a Netgear model number. So it isn't possible to tell you anything about compatibility. But is the device you have has a spare LAN port, then it will work.
Powerline devices don't care about the stuff you plug them into you. It is just a standard Ethernet thing.
Most recent Powerline devices follow the AV standard, which means that you can mix different makes and different generations. The only issue if that if you add "1000" plugs to a network with "500" plugs they will talk to each other at the speed of the slowest plugs on the network.
We don't know what your Netgear device is, so we can't say what speed of your LAN ports work at. Older devices do 100 Mbps while more modern kit does 1000 Mbps. If your device is stuck at 100 Mbps, then you can happily use slower Powerline plugs. But you will also be throwing away the speed of most modern PCs. Then again, you are doing that already, so you probably won't notice the difference.
When you do add plugs to an existing network, you should follow these instructions:

Remember, you need only one "source" plug connected to the router.
One other thing to consider, in theory you can mix brands but it isn't always easy to get set them up. So Netgear's utilities may refuse to talk to TP-LINK powerline devices, and vice versa.
