Powerline PLP1200 Slow Internet Connection

I have been using a several Netgear Powerline PLP1200 adapters since the July 2015, and I have received great connection (160 Mbps download) for almost the entire time.  However, the last month or two the connection speed as dropped to about a 1/4th (33 Mbps download) of what it orginally was.  Nothing has changed on my network so I do not understand why the powerline adapters have suffered such loss.  I have tried to reset the powerline adapters, but that has not worked.  Additionally, the three lights used to stay constantly green but in the last month or two the last light fluctuates being green, amber, and red about every few seconds.

My setup:

ISP:  Cox Communications with 150 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload

Cable Modem:  ARRIS SURFboard SB6190

Wireless Router:  Netgear R8000

8 Powerline Adapters either PLP1200 or PL1200

    Hello Jfitz

Has anything change in your house involving the electrical system?

      Hi JFitz,

Try to move the 2nd powerline adapter closer to the 1st adapter and observe the connection.

      Hi JFitz,

Please provide an update with your issue.

  • JFitz,

Did you ever resolve this issue?  I'm new to Cox and can't seem to get my Powerline adapters for my XBox Ones to work.

I have been using a several Netgear Powerline PL 1200 adapters on Verizon, and they worked fine (Plug n Play) since switching to Cox on Monday, third light flashes red.  My XBox gets 30 MB down load and 24 MB up with some packets lost and latency of around 115.  On Verizon I was getting 70 Mbps download and 50Mb upload with no packets lost and minimal latency.

Cox says since it's home network they can't help.

    My setup:

ISP:  Cox Communications with 200 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload

    Cable Modem:  ARRIS Touchstone TG2472

    4 Powerline PL1200 Adapters
