Powerline PLW 1000 issues not connecting
I have researched for a fix for this for 2 days, and don't understand what I am doing wrong. I had one of these before that died and it worked fine with my same setup. I have a google 1GB internet/router, the PLW 1000 netgear power line adaptors (the one where I need internet is in my detached garage. The NETGEAR42_EXT and 5G both show up on all of my computers (2 Macs, iPads, phones, an old PC) but I can't connect to them. If I plug an ethernet cable into the PLW 1000 the ethernet light turns on solid green, but I still can't get any connection. This is my 4th time buying power line products, 2 previous ones died, one I simply couldn't get to work I just returned) but since I had this same model that worked before I can't figure out what is going on. Oh, and on my Macs it doesn't show the PLW 1000 on the Netgear Genie network map, whereas it will on the PC. At my wits end, please any help is appreciated! Thanks

I'm afraid I can't follow what you have done here. For example, how many plugs are we talking about?
My strategy when setting up powerline devices is to get them all working side by side in the same room. Then I move them to their final destination. The plugs will remember what they are supposed to to.
If you are adding new plugs to an existing powerline network it is important to do things in the right order and to introduce the new plugs to the old network. This explains what to do:
>>> Adding a powerline adapter to an existing powerline network <<<
Remember, you need only one plug connected to the router. That acts as the source for all the other powerline devices on the network.

Thanks for the advice, I will try connecting them in the same room. I only have the powerline kit that comes with 2 parts, 1 for the router and 1 to plug in where you want the wifi, no extra adaptors. If I can't get them working still I will repost, thank you!

Still doesn't connect to internet. I don't get it. The lights all seem to work on the PLW device(s) but when I select the powerline EXT/ or 5G EXT as my internet it simply doesn't connect. Anyone from Netgear want to chime in? I tried to contact support aout this but there was a (suspicious) problem where the page got hung up rather than forwarding my problem... intenet page simply froze when I tried to submit my problem on multiple internet windows, devices, etc. I will give it until tomorrow before I give up on Netgear and try another company...
