OK. So you opted for the "two networks" approach. I'd expect that to work.
If that works, fine, but I would love to know if a single Powerline network can address two Powerline APs.

I did try something similar using one Powerline adapter and two Netgear extenders (EX6400) but only one would work satisfactorily. With both connected I kept loosing wifi signal to all of the items connected to each which is why I went for the two Powerline adapter set up. Having said that I did not try the security button scenario with the EX6400, so that might work but as things stand at the moment I have spent enough time getting matters sorted so that I can sort out my new cameras so won't be fiddling any more anytime soon!!
