Radio Interference

Can anyone help please? I have a problem using my Powerline AV+ 500 Nano Set.
Connecting my TV to the internet works well. My problem is that every time I want to use my radio I have interference problems both on FM and some short wave bands. I conducted an experiment by disconnecting all cables from my adapters, removing one altogether and just plugging the other one into the mains and switching it on and off. When it was on I had interference, when off there was no interference. The adapter seems to act as a radio transmitter through the ether, or feedback through the mains, or both.
Is there any solution to overcoming this problem such as changing the adapters frequency or using filters?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

  • Supposedly because they are fcc class b devices they should not be creating any noise, but the reality is that they do put noise on the power line and probably do so using radio waves.

You may have to get a stronger antenna for your radio.

Back in the day when we had a 486dx2-66 that we home built, we lost 2 radio stations completely when it was on. :D

replace them with different brand or model, try relocating to a different location or circuit, you can't or shouldn't use a power line filter on the adapters because that would filter out the data. You could try a Power line filter on the radio.

This is a great idea. You could use a line conditioner/UPS that outputs pure sine wave power. That might help, but the radio may still pick up any signals leaking out of the walls.
