I recommend taking it back and getting your money if you can. That's the best way to avoid the inevitable migraine that this product will undoubtedly cause you. I have a three year old home that has had zero electrical problems in 110 degree heat for an entire month. As soon as I had the pl1200 up and running, it started tripping breakers the instant I started pushing data across the network. It only took me about 30 minutes and 8 tripped breakers in three different rooms before I found this forum. This product will likely cause issues for anyone that users it.

It sounds like you have a sensitive system. Have you tried different powerline kit? If it does the same thing, then you have a different issue.
Rather than rejecting the hardware, which works fine for many people, I'd dig a bit deeper. Have you had an electrician check the earth system on your wiring? The plugs may be revealing a more worrying underlying issue.
