Where to buy more PowerLINE Wi-Fi 1000 access points?

I bought the PowerLINE Wi-Fi 1000 - Essentials Editions.  All seems to be working fine.  Now I'm ready to add a couple more access points.  (I need them more for the Ethernet ports than the wifi).  But I can't find the individual access point units for sale anywhere.

Where can I buy just the extra access point units, without needing to buy the combo pack that includes the adapter/base unit?

  • The units are HomeplugAV2 compliant, so as long as you purchase additional units that are HomeplugAV2 compatible or the earlier HomeplugAV standard then they will work together.

So if you don't need anymore Wifi capable units you could purchase a pair of AV500 units or 1200s and these would work in conjunction with your existing powerline network:

One word of note, adding slower units can have a detrimental effect to your network.  As your current units are 1000s you may wish to purchase the 1200s, budget permitting of course.

    Hope this helps

Any suggestions for an additional wifi access point? Point well taken on wired options & trying to get a current/compatible model, which I will do for one room. But for the other area, I need another wifi point...

  • I have the exact same problem/need. Netgear doesn't sell individual access points, though this isn't clearly stated anywhere on their site or by the customer "service" team. I need at least 1 more *wifi* access point and am stuck at this point. :(
