XAV101 not passing iTunes Sharing

I really like the speed of my Powerline network but the XAV101s are not allowing iTunes sharing. I have my iTunes Library on my iMac office computer and try to stream iTunes to my MacBook laptop in the den...When I am in wireless mode the wireless network allows this (but the connection is poor thus the Powerline) when I switch to the Powerline the shared Library disappears from iTunes.

Of course, the XAV101 utility for some reason won't launch in Snow Leopard and the XAV101 firmware cant be updated on a Mac as the firmware update aplication is PC only.

Can anyone assist me in how to get iTunes sharing back?

  • I am having the same problem as well. I have raised this with support and the response I have had so far is

"if you are able to connect to internet using the power line adapters and not able to connect to Itunes, means that there is no problem with the power line adapter"

Has anyone else found a resolution to this issue?
  • I am having this issue as well. I have been able to recover Bonjour functionality temporarily by using the "Factory Reset" button on both my XAVB101 devices. This only works for a while though. Any heavy traffic (like Time Machine) causes multicast packets to get dropped by the XAVB101. Even after traffic goes from heavy to light, the problem persists.

I hope someone from Netgear actually reads these...
