XAVN2001 Powerline AV 200 Wireless-N Extender

Will this unit only function on wireless if it is plugged into the same power source, I understand it if I am using it as a powerline extender. I want to take this unit out to my gate infront of my property to extend my current network another 200+ ft and then attach a Ring (wireless and video door bell) to it. Has anyone used it for this purpose or something similar. I also have (2) xav2001 powerline adapter and a xav200 nano xav2101which are similar to my WD powerline adapters. I am more concerned with the wireless portion only.

Thanks,

Bob

Not sure that I understand this.

The plug is an access point that connects to the Internet over the mains LAN and the plug at the router end. It would not work as a wifi repeater that does wifi to wifi with a router.

So it has to be on the same mains circuit for the wifi to work.

At 200 feet I would worry about the quality of the mains link, and the wifi won't stretch that far either.

I am not familiar with stuff like ringers and video.
