XAVP1000 powerline stopped

Powerline connectivity from WNXR2000 and XAVP1000 had been working just fine for many months, connecting to a ZyXEL PLA401v3. An older ZyXEL powerline modem I had seemed never to work reliably, but the WNXR2000 worked fine right away.

I do not know of any changes I made to the home network (ethernet, WiFi, or powerline), nor to the AC power connection, but powerline connectivity has now stopped. Both the XAVP1000 and the ZyXEL PLA401v3 display (1) power light, (2) ethernet connected, but no Powerline light of any kind.
I have reset the XAVP1000 via the reset button, but to no avail: all three lights will flash as it resets, but then no Powerline comes up - only power and ethernet connected.

Might anyone have troubleshooting ideas, or have experienced such a problem?

A week later now, and I can reply to my own query. The problem turned out clearly not to lie in the XAVP1000. Following a few searches at eBay, I bought a Cisco PLE300, thinking (naively) it would be a replacement for the XAVP1000. When it arrived, I eventually figured out the unit is the "client" end, so replaces the ZyXEL PLA401v3. Indeed, that fixed the problem. It was the ZyXEL adapter that had failed. Once the "new" Cisco was plugged in as adapter, the NetGear power supply and router powerline worked just fine.

Following some eBay searches, I bought a Cisco PLE300, thinking (foolishly) it would be a replacement for the XAVP1000. When it arrived, I eventually figured out it is a host adapter instead. I swapped out the ZyXEL PLA401, plugged in the XAVP1000 to the network again, and I once again had a live powerline system. So it was the ZyXEL adapter that had failed (I suppose just as my ZyXEL power line modem/router had failed a year or so ago).
