Yes. My old computer‘s USB3.0 chip is NEC. The adapter can't work in 3.0 mode under Netgear official driver , But can run 3.0 mode normally under MTK' new driver.
My new computer motherboard is Asus Z170-A. Maybe this motherboard’s USB3.0 chip is ASMedia. Frequent disconnection Internet under Netgear official driver. I think the MTK'new driver on Asus Z170 -A well be as useful as my old computer。 I haven't much time to try。

Hi yjjstc,
When you say won't run in USB 3.0, do you mean the adapter works with official firmware but only with 2.0 and not on 3.0 or you are unable to successfully install it?

System will jump out of the tip,if the device be inserted in the USB3.0 can be more high-speed.........
and Using ADA64, it will be found that the adapter works in the USB 2.0 mode.
But if you use the MTK drive, the adapter can works in the USB3.0 mode very normal.
Of course, all the other USB3.0 devices can work normal on my computer.
I mean, if installed netgear official driver, the adapter will be forced to run in a compatible mode(USB2.0),system will jump out of the tip and you can see the adapter was works in USB 2.0 mode by ADA64.

The result is tested on my old computer. This computer’s USB chip is NEC. While working in USB2.0 mode, it won't lost the Internet connection on my old computer.
But the netgear official drive could not be used on my new computer, system will jump out tips that tell me the adapter is not run in the 3.0 mode, and will disconnect the connection for a few minutes.
