A6100 on Windows 10
I tried installing in Windows 8 Compatibility Mode but the PC cannot detect the device. Anyone know of a temporary fix until final release of Win10 and drivers are made available? Thanks, all.

1. In device manager, click on the 6100 and choose update driver, browse my computer, let me choose which drivers, and uncheck show compatible drivers
2. Select Realtek Semiconducter Corp (use the 2nd one down on the list - there are two in a row)
3.On the right side select Realtek 8812AU Wireless LAN 802.11 ac USB NIC Version 1027.4.1120.2014 (use the second one down on the list again with the driver date of 02/17/2015)
4. Ignore the warning message and install it anyway
5. Should Work for Windows 10 Now!

Hi RH,
This is working. I would add something more here for help to others if they get confused. First remove the Netgear Genie or standalone driver which you have installed earlier.
Once that done use the method given by RH which is
------
-------
For a check, when you see the device back in Device Manager , it should bear the name of Realtek adaptor and not Netgear A6100. To connect to network you can go the Network setting in Win10, scroll down to the newly installed device name, and then select the 5GHZ wifi ssid.
Cheers,

Fortunately this "workaround" was also successful for me, at this time. We'll see how long it will last, It truly is disappointing to know Netgear hasn't stepped up to the plate to upgrade the drivers for it's products. I'm certain there are thousands of their products still on the shelves and this just seems ludicrious! Not everyone has the technical skills to apply this kind of a fix and will wind up having to PAY $omeone to fix it for them...Good grief Charlie Brown!
