A6100 WiFi USB Adapter issues

The adapter will connect to the wifi, and then immediately it will say there is no wifi. However on my phone and laptop, it does say there is wifi, but the adapter isn't picking it up or connecting properly to it. I have tried to update the drivers, but they are up to date- I have also tried to troubleshoot it with windows, but to no avail.

    What is the operating system of the computer? How far is the computer from the router?
