New A6100 Adapter

Windows 8.1 OS will not load with the adapter in the USB port. If I remove the adapter Windows load normally. I can then insert the adapter, it connects and works well. If I have to shut down and restart Windows will not boot unless I pull the adapter out. Another thing, when the computer is up and running and I pull the adapter out of the USB, my computer shuts down and does an restart automatically.
