I just tried it on a second computer, HP ENVY Phoenix Desktop, same problem, my A6200 and A6210 connect with 802.11n but not 802.11ac and my Linksys WUSB6300 connects with 802.11ac just fine.
I also tried these at work where we have new Cisco commercial WAPs, same results, my A6200 and A6210 connect with 802.11n but not 802.11ac and my Linksys WUSB6300 connects with 802.11ac just fine.

Hi paulj,
Can you provide screenshots that shows 802.11N connection instead of 802.11AC.
