I have the same exact issue as described by Windows10_ user above. The device worked fine until the windows 10 upadate. I am using the same anti-virus software as when I loaded the drivers and software the first time when running windows 7 pro and no issues then.

Same issue with A6210 but not sure exactly when it occurred. I haven't been using device but found this issue during a system check. Now using Nighthawk X8 R8500 AC5300. Nonetheless, would like to fix issue. Not being able to open Genie for this device is very annoying as I prefer to know what is working and what is not working on my system and to fix what is not working. Thanks.

FYI, Through this post Netgear gear support contacted me. After we connected over the phone I gave the technician access to my laptop he logged in to the device unloaded the old drivers and loaded a beta version of the drivers. This seems to have fixed the issue, the adapter is now recognized and is working properly. What he mentioned was that during the Win10 update Microsoft loaded a generic set of AC drivers that is not recognized by the system. He also mentioned that Netgear is working with Microsoft to find a fix for this issue. He said they were hoping to have it resolved and a new set of drivers release by the end of November 2016. So now my adapter is working again and I want to thank Netgear for some great customer support even thought my device was out of warranty.
