A6210 wifi adapter channel connection

Hello,

I've recently installed an A6210 wireless usb adapter. I have no troubles connecting to the channels on AC wireless mode, however they offer a weaker signal strength to the N channels. The weaker signal is noticeable when playing games or streaming - I experience a lag spike every couple of minutes, very annoying!

I'm trying to connect to the N channels, using the netgear genie software, to compare speeds and general connectivity. After I type in the password and hit connect, it disconnects me from the AC channel but then just reconnects again on the same one. Is there a way to override this so I can connect to the N channels?

Does any of the above make sense? I am a networking noob, apologies.

The modem/router I am trying to connect to is a TalkTalk Huawei HG633.

Thanks

Alex
