AC1200 USB Wifi adapter - How to select wifi adapter ?

Hello,

I installed the Netgear AC1200 Wifi USB adapter on my portable.

How can I select that this adapter should be used en not the internal Wifi adapter ?

    which portable? 

    if its a windows device, go to control panel---->network and sharing center---->change adapter settings------->select the one you don't want to use and right click-->disable
