Is the answer to getting the WNDA3100v2 working with Windows 10 really to buy Linksys?

I have two Netgear WNDA3100v2 WiFi adapters with a Netgear WNDR3400v3 WiFi router From reading the different threads it would appear that the only suggestions that seems to work is to replace the adapter with a Linksys adapter. At least this is what this Netgear discussion thread appears to suggest whan you click the "Solved! Go to Solution" link - https://community.netgear.com/t5/WiFi-Adapters/WNDA3100v2-works-intermittently-with-windows-10/m-p/970584#M886 I have tried all the latest driver and some older drivers. I Disabled the " Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under power management. I disabled all Antivirus software... I went out and purchased D-Link and Linksys USB 3.0 adapters and they all have worked flawlessly except for the D-Link DWA-192 which needed the latest drivers and they needed to be installed in compatibility mode. 4 adapters from Linksys and D-Link worked fine. No disabling of Anti Virus or Power management functions. I even tried old Linksys and old Netgear adapters. All work fine... I considerred the fact that my WNDA3100v2 may be defective but I have 2 of them and they experience the same issues on two very different Windows 10 Systems. Windows 10 - Fresh Installs Bitdefender Plus 2016 1 AMD / 1 Intel Machine Adapter resets and disapears completely from the system. Sometimes it needs to be removed and inserted. Other times the machine needs to be powered down completely and restarted. Is there a real answer or is this adapter just not compatible? Should it just be chucked away as a victim of electronic evolution? I'm not the only one with this issue. It's also an issue with a multitude of Netgear adapters. Can we please have an honest technical answer from Netgear?

I, too, have tried everything I could find around the web and come up short. Tried several different drivers. Turned off every place where Windows 10 would reduce its power usage. But it still disconnects about two times per day, with the same error message:

The network interface "NETGEAR WNDA3100v2 N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets. Reason: The network driver detected that its hardware has stopped responding to commands.

Is there no way to completely stop this from happening?

        I've had those problems too.

I tried to fix it but eventually after I installed genie (which I didn't use), tried win8 drivers but seeing no improvement I reverted back to the latest drivers. After that whenever I would start a game the connection would drop, eventually it will say I'm disconnected and can't log back in untill I close the game thing, then I can connect again. Super weird.

So after some more uninstalling via different ways and trying reinstalling drivers with and without genie I reverted back to the win8 beta drivers and while the connection doesn't crash anymore when I start a game it definitely still disconnects me from time to time, arguably more often than before.

        It's getting kinda frustrating
