My wife and I are living in an RV. We have an access point allowing us to share files and a printer among our 4 computers.
We bought a WNCE3001 several months ago and connected it to the WAN RJ45 jack on the access point. Our idea was that we
could use any available WiFi, including our Verizon Hot Spot, to provide Internet connectivity. We had occasional problems
with this approach, but most of the time could connect to the WNCE3001 through the access point via the URL
http://www.mywifiext.net, and despite said occasional difficulties could work through the wizard to redirect it to the
most convenient (that's spelled cheapest) WiFi source available at any given location. Recently the WNCE3001 has become
very uncooperative. Whether I attempt to access it direct wired to my laptop or through the access point, about 99% of the
time I get no response when I ask to connect to http://www.mywifiext.net, and my Internet Explorer browser reports "You're
not connected to a network". I recently found reference to http://192.168.1.251 in your online documentation and have
tried that as a synonym to http://www.mywifiext.net. I have even tried "ping 192.168.1.251" at a command prompt and have
had no success with that either. I have tried following online troubleshooting instructions on your web site that seemed
to be related and have had no success. When I connect the WNCE3001 directly to my laptop, the LED goes red briefly, then
goes to blinking yellow at varying frequencies, then blinking green, then steady green. The LAN icon in my systray shows
that the computer is trying to connect, but never seems to succeed fully. After a while it shows an information icon
(yellow triangle with an exclamation point) and the reported status is "Unidentified network, No Internet access". Can you
help me get this working?

Connecting to hotspot, always be aware of possible security breach. When traffic is busy(many users are already connected), you won't be able to coneect. Even if you connect there'll be no access to the Internet. Whenever you change hotspot you'll need to creat connection profile so your system will remember it. What you are describing is not a problem, typical occurences using hotspot.

Thanx for the quick response, VE6CGX! I can't help wondering, however, whether you may have skimmed my problem description a little too quickly. I have loads of experience connecting to WiFi hotspots and understand their problems. My current problem, however, is an inability to reach the setup wizard within the WNCE3001. I am trying to do this with a direct hardwired connection to my laptop's RJ45 jack (as described in the Installation Guide), among other means, and suddenly having no success. When I try this, I am disabling all other wired and wireless connections on the laptop, as instructed in the Installation Guide. In desperation, I have also pushed the recessed reset button to clear out any prior setup within the WNCE3001. It is the Setup Wizard built into the WNCE3001 that is AWOL. I have also downloaded the latest firmware version (1.0.0.44) to the laptop, but of course cannot install it in the WNCE3001, since it is enforcing radio silence. Any ideas?

I see. ATM, is the unit still operational however erratic it may be or is it functionally dead? Reset buttons job is putting back the condition of unit to factory default state. Firmware is two part; CFE and firmware itself. If CFE is buggered up it is not wasy task to recover the unit back to normal state. Being unable to reflash firmware is the pointer. And what is the status of LED?
