Netgear A6200 Windows 10 - 5 GHZ problems
I have problems with my adapter finding the 5 GHZ signal from my AT&T router. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I have tried going into Device Manager, Netgear A6200 Properties, Advanced........

Hi luisgo98,
1. How far is the adapter from the router?
2. What is the driver version of the adapter?

Hi luisgo98,
We’d greatly appreciate hearing your feedback letting us know if you need further assistance.

Hi James, sorry for not responding earlier. The adapter is in my home office, the router is in the family room. I would say the distance is about 35-40ft.
Sometimes it detects it; sometimes it doesn't.
I'd also tried moving the adapter next to the router and it still can't detect it, so it might not be a distance problem.
Right now it detects the 5ghz signal after a few days that it couldn't.
I also tried to restart the router, computer, etc. and those things don't seem to fix the problem.

Hi luisgo98,
Try to uninstall the adapter. Reinstall it using the standalone driver.

Hi James,
I first uninstalled Netgear Genie from my computer (maybe I shouldn't have?)
Then I downloaded the new driver using the link you provided and installed the one that said "standalone".
Now I don't know how to activate or access my network using the A6200, since I no longer have the Genie to activate it.
The A6200 just has a blinking blue light but no access to 5GHZ.
What did I do wrong and how can I correct it?
I am not very computer savvy so please provide detailed instructions.
Thanks for all your help.

I also downloaded the Netgear Genie Version 2.4.38.
Still no access to the 5GHZ band.

JamesGL, I can't stress enough how disappointed I am with this product and it's reliability to connect to 5 GHZ, which is the ONLY purpose why I bought it for.
I am also very disappointed in Netgear's customer service and inability to resolve this matter. I've been waiting WEEKS for your answer and nothing.
To everyone in here looking for a WIFi USB adapter to connect to 5 GHZ, please REFRAIN from buying any Netgear products.
I have spent countless hours trying to make this piece of $$#% work and nothing.
Don't make the same mistake many of us did....look somewhere else.
And when you find a reliable product without any stupid hassles, please let me know.
This is disgusting!
