But, i my windows 10 lenova laptop i am using netgear wifi adapter WNA1000mv2 is not detecting the D-link above mentioned wifi signals even 2.4ghz.

    Hi arunkarkki,

    1. Does the adapter detects other wireless network?

    2. The adapter is only capable of detecting 2.4Ghz and not 5Ghz.

In addition to my reply finaly after seeing so many issues in windows forum i did the following things to resolve the issue.

issue logs and error while run the network troubleshooting : Association status: Fail 0x00038002 Association reason code: 0x00000002

      Method 1:

Steps worked for me: Ref: Broken/slow wifi - PC Build 14316 on Windows 10 Technical Preview

      1. Press Windows Key + R Key.
      2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on Enter Key.
      3. Expand Network Adapter.
      4. Right click on the wireless driver and click on Uninstall.

      5. Restart your Computer and it will install default wireless drivers.

Method 2: Ref: Windows 7 can't find my D-Link wireless network

One magic fix: Connected by cable, went to the D-Link router homepage(which is router configuration page > wireless tab), changed the channel from "Auto" to "8".

I don't know the root cause of the issue. Whether with windows/netgear/D-Link router side. If possible you can give me some clarification on the issue root cause and the right solution.

        Hi arunkarkki.

Since the issue happens on both adapter, most likely the issue is with Windows.

  • Hi jamesGL,

    1, yes.
2, yes, but 2.4ghz wifi ssid also not detected. And more over 5ghz ssid detected by another laptop in that laptop 2.4ghz ssid is not listed. So, am not sure is there any specific configuration needed for laptops to detect 2.4ghz band.
At the same time in mobiles both 2.4ghz and 5ghz are listing for the same wireless config for this router.
