I think I might be able to help you on that ...as I would guess that the double entry for WNDA3100v2 is causing some problems.
Try the following: -
Right click Start menu and choose 'Device Manager' and expand the Network adapters.
You MAY have 3 or 4 showing. Then use the view tab to 'view hidden devices'.
That will probably show all 4 above, and some others that are of no concern.
Right click each in turn (of the 2 WNDA3100v2) and one will be the one you use and one won't.
Use the option to delete/remove the one that you are not using and that should help with your problem.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above did NOT solve my problem as the 2 items I was interested in were NOT listed in 'Device Manager'.
I had tried to completely obliterate every mention of Netgear completely from my machine.
I uninstalled ALL Netgear programs, cleared out the registry, all temporary files, etc.
Then when using DOS prompt with command 'netcfg -s n', for me it returned the following.
Network Adapters
-----------------

usb\vid_0846&pid_9011 NETGEAR WNDA3100v2 N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter

pci\ven_10ec&dev_8168&rev_06 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
The 2 items starting 'nonpnpnetworkinterface' are definitely not required, and as no Netgear programs are installed, where is that information coming from.
I can only suspect that it must be from a file somewhere.
My problem is how do I delete the unnecessary entries above?
I hope the first bit above will help others with a similar problem, and somebody else can help me with mine:)

2. Highlight "Network adapters".
3. Click on view at the top then click on Show hidden devices.
4. Look for the WNDA3100v2 then right click and then select uninstall.

First of all apologies about the lack of response.... I cannot get the Internet working for enough time to write something.
Secondly the process above was used by me and recommended to others, if not in this Post, then in another with similar subject matter.
i.e. I am aware of and use this process already.
Thirdly using the process above DOES NOT show in deice manager the 2 items from the "netcfg -s n" which start 'nonpnpnetworkinterface'.
So HOW DO I REMOVE these items that I do not want.
NOTE:- I have uninstalled ALL netgear products, checked that nothing is in Registry with the word 'netgear' and cleaned the registry and rebooted etc etc.
I have then used "netcfg -s n" to discover the 2 offending items listed.
WHERE does that info come from to be listed in that command ..... Somebody must know - HELP PLEASE:)

JamesGL I followed your instructions and it seems like this may have worked. I haven't had a connection drop since I did this. So far so good, if something changes, I will you know.
Thanks for your advice and help. And thanks to everyone who posted and offer their opinions, I appreciate all the help.
