Hi tcj12,

 

Sometimes wireless adapters drop connection when the WinOS computer/laptop wakes up from sleep mode (hibernation).

 

Here are some steps on how to prevent Windows OS from putting the USB device to sleep.

 

  1. Right-click My Computer and select Properties (or open Control Panel System).
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.
  3. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  4. Double-click USB Root Hub (or right-click it and select Properties).
  5. Click the Power Management tab.
  6. Uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
  7. Click OK to exit USB Root Hub Properties.
  8. Click the red cross to close the Device Manager.
  9. Click OK to close System Properties.
