Try installing the standalone driver instead of the Genie version.

I am using the standalone version on my windows 10 pc and it works okay. However, I do have an issue where my adapter loses connectivity. I have checked the router and the router does not seem to be the issue because I have another windows 10 pc that is using the same exact model adapter without issue.
Hi I have replaced my netgear adapter for the Edimax AV 1750 Wifi USB adapter
All works fine now !!
