WNCE 2001 upgrade

Hi,  I have a Yamaha AV receiver, which lacks Wifi. Have seen recommendations on WNC2001, but want to know if there are any upgrades to it ?

    It is highly unlikely that you will be able to use a wifi USB dongle to add wifi to an AV receiver. It needs all sorts of software and drivers to work.

     

    Try throwing the question as a Yamaha user group.

     

    Does the receiver have LAN input? If so you could consider powerline networking.

      The WNCE2001 functions exactly the same as a powerline adapter but may be more limited in wi-fi range compared to the powerline adapters 'anywhere in the home' range.
