WNDA3100 V2 Wireless adaptor disappears from PC

I install this thing with the latest drivers. Then suddenly I have no internet access. It is not even listed in the Device Manager. So, I install it again. After a while it is gone again. How and/or ...

I forgot to add: Operating System is Windows 8.1.

Motherboard is a new Gigabyte 970A-DS3P in a new case with an AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor and 12 gig of memory.

Kindly reinstall the adapter using the standalone driver and check if the same problem.
