AC3000 no internet connection

My ISP advised me to connect my AC3000 to my tp-link AC1600.  The AC1600 is set up as follows: wifi on, WPS off.

This created a second wifi network in my home (Orbi wifi + the original wifi).  I can connect to either of these.  The original wifi still has internet connection.

I have tried connecting my Orbi to either one of the AC1600+NBN modem or the NBN modem alone.

I can't get internet connection via the Orbi wifi network.

    A couple things. AC1600 and AC3000 aren't models. They're speeds. Actual model numbers help.

    So your current setup is:

    CM8200--->Tp-link--->orbi

    Is this correct?

    Are both the tp-link and orbi running in router mode?

    If so, it can put you in a double nat. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

    Simple fix? put the orbi in access point mode.

    more complicated fix?

    put the netgear's ip address in the tp-link's dmz.

    Why are you needing the tp-link in there? the Orbi setup is quite capable and adding complexity to a network usually only causes problems.

      Netgear support advised my reset button was faulty, so I am returning the product to the sales company.
