AP using disabled guestnetwork's password

Question

Trouble with AP picking up guest network (using guest networks password to sign onto AP wifi) -- when guest network shows disabled in genie.
Amped Pro AP connected to Netgear r6300v2 router.&nbsp;
Guest Network is disabled (per genie).&nbsp;
Yesterday I updated firmware on Netgear router.
on Genie I chose WPA2 for guest network security, prompted for password and entered it.&nbsp;
After these updates, went to sign on to wifi AP network and could not.&nbsp;
deleted AP wifi from computer and the signed on and AP could not recognize password.&nbsp;
Tried the new password I had entered for the Guest network on Netgear genie (Guest network still showing disabled) and that worked.&nbsp; Why is my AP using the guest network's password?&nbsp;

Overall, how do I make sure the AP is using my main network and not the guest network?&nbsp;

Your question really isn't about the r6300v2.

The AP600EX is either connected to the r6300v2 or the SR600EX over wired ethernet. Either way it won't be using wifi for backhaul.&nbsp; If you want to isolate the wifi clients from each other, you'll need to find the wireless isolaton setting in the AP web UI.&nbsp; I'm not seeing that feature in the AP600EX user guide, but it might be in the UI somewhere.

The SR600EX can either be a extender or an AP.&nbsp; If you are using it as an AP, then the same answer applies to it.&nbsp; If you using it as an extender, then you tell the SR600EX what wireless network you want to extend in it's web ui.&nbsp; So look there, and if its not set to your guest network then change it.

Thank you.  I'm using the AP to broadcast my COX internet signal to the SR at an outside location. The AP is connected to the netgear router via POE that came with the AP.  The router is connected to my Cox modem.  My SR stopped receiving the internet signal from the AP which led me to investigate/troubleshoot.  I ordered a new AP thinking the antenna may have failed, but new AP did not resolve problem.  I'm only getting a 60% signal from AP where it use to be 80 and up.  I changed the channel from auto to 6 on router and AP with no benefit.  I then checked neither genie to Ser if new software and did that upgrade. That is where I noticed guest network did not have security enabled so selected WPA and entered password.  From that point on the AP needed that guest network password to sign on, even though the guest network says its disabled in the genie? Bottom line of what I'm trying to troubleshoot and solve is why my SR is not getting a strong enough signal from the AP to receive the internet from my home network (cox)?? It was for months and nothing changed in my application ( that I can tell). That's when I wondered if the AP was sending the guest network to the SR instead of the main home network?

There is no separate guest network on the ethernet feed from the router, so that isn't happening.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Is the AP in WDS mode?&nbsp; If it is connected to the router with ethernet, it shouldn't be. The AP should function even if the router wifi network is completely turned off.&nbsp; You might try doing that as part of your troubleshooting.
