My Network: AX3600 Insight Managed Router (Firmware version 10.2.0.16), AX1800 Mesh Extender (Firmware version 1.0.3.36) Issue: I recently got a new router and a range extender to help cover my whole house, but I’m running into a weird issue. When any device (phone, desktop PC, laptop, iPad) connects via the extender, it loses the ability to connect to some websites. For instance, I can connect to Facebook fine, but if I try to connect to Twitter, it fails to load. When I try to connect to those sites via the Wi-Fi from the router, everything loads perfectly. Attempted Fixes: Factory reset of both devices, firmware update, cycling both devices and the modem, cursing.5.3KViews0likes7CommentsChange my router extenders name in WiFi search
I want to change the name of my extends name as it appears in the WiFi search. While doing the set-up, I hastily just added the word 'extender' after the name of the router. Now I would like to change it to something a little more original. Is there any way to do this?57KViews1like3CommentsNETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX6120 drops wired connection
I'm having an issue where my wifi Extender keeps dropping it's wired connection to my PC. At first it happened every once in awhile, then once evertime I got on my PC, now it's every hour or so. The wired connection changes to read "Unidentified Netword, no internet access" and when I run the troubleshooter all I get is "Ethernet 3 doesn't have a valid IP address". If I unplug the extender and plug it back in, it boots up and works fine, until it doesn't. Any idea what's going on?1.7KViews0likes6CommentsMy extender won't connect to my new router
I recently changed internet providers and now my extender won't connect. I factory reset it and used the Nighthawk app to set it up. On my phone it says it's connected, but the extender itself doesn't show it's connecting. I also have an ethernet cable connected from the extender to my desktop. My desktop still isn't connecting to the internet, so I know the extender isn't working. I called support and after TWO hours, they were unsuccessful in helping me. I'm calling back again and I've now been on hold for an HOUR! This is ridiculous. Unhappy is an understatement. Please help.1.7KViews0likes3CommentsIs there an extender with external antenna that works with RBR40 router with RBW30 satellites
I have a pole barn for mechanical repair, welding projects, work benches. The building is grounded all metal walls and roof, concrete floor, no windows. I spend a lot of time in this building and would like to have a dependable wifi signal. During nice weather I can open the door and get a good wifi signal from my Orbi satellite in the nearby garage. During unfavorable weather with the door closed I cannot get a wifi signal. Years ago before Orbi, I had a Linksys router that my Netgear Extenders EX6100 and EX3700 would connect to. I drilled a hole in the steel wall and stuck an extender antenna out the hole and it worked great. Neither of these extenders will work with my Orbi system. I have not been able to identify an extender with external antenna that works with my Orbi system. In a perfect world I could buy a Orbi satellite with an optional external antenna to stick out the hole in the wall, however, no such thing. Can anyone suggest an extender with antenna that is simple to connect to an Orbi RBR40 router with RBW30 satellites? Simple is key, I'm not a skilled IT Tech. I currently have it set up as a mesh extender as opposed to an access point. Because the devices I need to connect are wired (a server and my desktop). They are connected through a netgear 5 port “dumb” switch to the extender. The issue is I do not see the server or my desktop on the router (Xfinity xFI) they have been there before because I can see them as previously connected. Also I noticed they get assigned a virtual machine address as opposed to their MAC addresses being forwarded to the router. I thought this was supposed to act as a bridge to the router. Or is that only possible through it being an access point? Any assistance would be/is greatly appreciated thank you!610Views0likes4CommentsMR70 Loses Advanced Routing Settings
NightHawk #MR70 mesh system V1.0.3.34_2.0.58) is set up with advanced routing to some custom TCP/UDP ports. After a while (ranging from days to weeks), the advanced routing stops. When I go in to look at the settings, the list is blank. If I try to add the rules again, the system presents the message that the rule conflicts with existing service. However, when I try to search the rule it does not exist and the list remains blank. The only (temporary) solution I've found is to completely factory reset the system and re-create all the rules. Unfortunately after a few days the problem returns. I've tried backing up the settings and restoring from the backup, however the same problem persists upon restoration, even if the settings are backed up after a freshly reset system which should be error free.
