Apple Mac: Extender connects to network but no Internet
Hi, hope someone can help me :) I've browsed previous topics here and have seen a similar problem to this that suggested that it was due to the MAC address being filtered, however I've ruled that...

Hi jvasanth1984 thanks for the reply :)
Have updated the Firmware on the 2700 now - quite the hoops I had to jump through for that as I couldn't update direct via the wifiext page (because no internet) but anyhow, got there in the end. Not made a difference though unfortunately.
Don't quite understand what you mean by modify my wireless channel on router though. Could you explain that a bit further for me?

Ok, I googled the wireless channel thing, however my Virgin hub won't let me change any settings as presumably it's wireless settings are 'locked' because it's connected via ethernet to the Cisco router (which is the Screenwise usage meter) which is what's technically providing the wireless signal.
And as I haven't found a way to get into the Cisco router settings (nothing happens when I type in it's ip address into a browser), I can't switch channels.

Hi Pebblez,
I'm sure there will be a way to change the channel. Can you help me with the model of your router?

Hi again jvasanth1984
My main router is a Virgin Digital Hub 2ac, but as mentioned before the channels are locked on that as the wireless bands have been disabled because it's connected to the secondary meter router via ethernet.
That secondary router is a Cisco Linksys E4200.
Thanks!

Hi Pebblez,
You can change wireless channel on linksys router if you are configuring extender with it. You can use this document http://downloads.linksys.com/downloads/userguide/E_Series_UG_E900Rev_3425-01486_Web.pdf where in page 36 and 37, it'll tell about how to change wireless channel on it.
