Authentication problem

I just bought a N300 WiFi range extender tried to get it connected to my router but the router light will not come on the extender is in the same room almost directly under my router and every time we try to connect to use the WiFi network manager nothing happens it just says WiFi authentication problem and will not do anything else we cannot connect to anything except the existing WiFi

    Hi Britt_13,

     

    Can you please confirm which N300 WiFi Range Extender you are using? (e.g WN2000RPT, PR2000, etc)

     

    When on your computer, connect to the Extender's network (it is usually followed by '_EXT')
    Then open up a web browser and go to mywifiext.net

    name = admin

    password = password

    Then follow the instructions to setup your extender to connect with your router.
